Peanut Butter Pie

I hear that today is National Peanut Butter Day. This does not excite me. Not at all. Why? Because I am not a peanut butter fan. I don't hate peanut butter. I'm just not a fan. I can eat peanut butter. I can eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. It does not make me choke or gag or anything close to it. I'd just rather have something else.

However.

I found an exception.

This pie.

Peanut Butter Pie.

I'll admit that when I heard about if from Susie, I was not excited.

At all.

However.

I made this pie.

O.My.

Completely worthy of National Peanut Butter Day. Don't hate me for telling you so late. By the time you read this, today will probably already have become tomorrow and National Peanut Butter Day will be yesterday.

I'm sorry.

Not to worry. This pie will taste great today, too.

Make it.

You'll want to eat it today.

And tomorrow.

I'm telling ya, this is a seriously delicious pie.

Combine peanut butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar and milk.
 Stir in whipped topping.
You'll need a chocolate cookie crust. You could make one. Or cheat, like I did, and use a ready made Oreo cookie crust from the store.
Pour the creamy, dreamy goodness into the crust.
Save the plastic that covers the crust and turn it over and use it as a lid.
Cover the pie and put it in the freezer for a few hours. 2. Maybe 3. Or 4. It doesn't need to be frozen solid. Truthfully it doesn't need to be frozen at all. Just set up enough to cut. Although, it is fabulous frozen.
Pour on some fudge topping. You could use some Hershey's syrup. Making this fudge is much better. MUCH.
Be generous. You'll want some in every bite.
Top with some deliciousness, such as, Oreo cookies or crumbs or peanut butter cups. I've seen teeny tiny peanut butter cups (not wrapped) in a bag like chocolate chips. Those would be cute and clever and delicious on this pie.

So good.

Seriously.So.Good.

  1. This is where I want to put my comment. My daughter Katie loves PB pie and probably fudge sauce too. This has always been her birthday cake/pie every year for a long time. Big #18 next week -I'll have to make two or three. Thanks Deanna!
